Brush Visualization
To enhance workflow when your world is made of thousands of brushes Errant Landscape comes with extensive amount of ways to identify your brushes and their changes on the world.
Brush Component Visualization
Errant Landscape provides several methods for visually organizing your brushes:
- Sprite: Display a customizable billboard icon above each brush.
- Mesh: Use a static 3D mesh for in-world visualization.
- Text: Utilize text as an alternative to sprites for easy identification.
Those markers allow you easily distinguish between multiple brushes in a crowded environment.
Sprite
Assign a custom texture as a billboard icon to hover above your brush, providing a quick visual cue. Color-coding can further help in distinguishing one brush from another.
- Where to Configure: Go to your brush's details panel and navigate to
Landscape Brush -> Visualization -> Sprite
.
Meshes
When you need more spatial context, opt for 3D static meshes (non-nanite) to represent your brushes.
- Where to Configure: Find this option under
Landscape Brush -> Visualization -> Mesh
in your brush's details panel.
Please note that meshes will not adapt the brush's Visualization Color
as they use their own material.
Text
If you require detailed labeling for your brushes, use custom text to display above them.
- Where to Configure: This can be set up at
Landscape Brush -> Visualization -> Text
in your brush's details panel.
Weightmap / Biomes Mask Visualization
The Visualize
tool allows you to see the impact of your brush on individual weightmaps and biome masks, offering a deeper level of control and customization.

Auto-Preview for Selected Brushes
To make your work even more efficient, turn on the automatic preview feature. This selects and previews weightmaps and biome masks relevant to any brush you select.
- How to Enable: Simply navigate to
Visualize -> Preview -> Preview Selected Brushes
.
